Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025: Everything You Need to Know

If you’ve been following the latest tech news, you’ll know that January 22nd marked the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025, Samsung’s annual event where they unveil their newest devices for the year ahead. For those who missed out on the action, or who simply want a recap, we’ve created this blog to go through everything mentioned.
It’s no secret that Samsung’s latest innovations come with a price tag, but upgrading doesn’t have to break the bank. Our ‘sell my phone’ service offers a simple way to trade in your current device and put some cash towards your next upgrade. Whether you’re selling a Samsung, switching from Apple or Google, or trading in a phone in any condition, we make the process quick and hassle-free.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series
Kicking off the event in style, Samsung unveiled its most anticipated launch: the Samsung Galaxy S25. As expected, the brand stayed true to its tradition of announcing a new flagship phone series, aligning with its usual release cycle. Confirming industry speculation, the latest Galaxy S25 models are powered by the ultra-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 12GB of RAM, ensuring seamless performance to support the phone’s cutting-edge new features. One of the first things fans noticed was the striking resemblance to the Apple iPhone, particularly in the placement of the cameras.
The S25 comes in the standard model, the S25 Ultra, and S25+, providing a range of options for different budgets and requirements. Samsung also teased the heavily speculated S25 Edge, a slimmer addition to the range, but we didn’t get much information about this. The S25 Ultra is set to steal the show once again, with its 200 MP wide-angle camera and a lens with 100x zoom. It’s also made using Corning ® Gorilla ® Armor 2, which is a new anti-reflective, scratch-resistant glass ceramic cover material, giving extra protection against damage and everyday wear.
The range also came with some improvements to photography and videography, such as the Log video function, which enables users to capture a wider dynamic range when filming, giving flexibility during the editing process. This new collection of phones looks promising, but we’ll have to wait and see when the phones release in the next few weeks.
Galaxy AI
Many were right in their suspicions that AI advancements would be announced at the event, and some of the characteristics of Galaxy AI are set to rival Apple Intelligence. Samsung President, Dr. TM Roh, said that Galaxy AI intends to provide an experience that’s ‘open, inclusive, and limitless’. This includes an all-new ‘Now Bar’ on the lockscreen, which delivers a personalised mobile experience enhanced by AI capabilities. By monitoring your habits and app usage, this will present users with a morning and evening brief, giving them insights into things like wellness data or updates of a sports game you’ve been engaged in.
The voice and search features of Galaxy AI are some of the most remarkable aspects, like the new conversational search functions for gallery and settings, making it simple to find exactly what you’re looking for. Additional personalisation is supported by Samsung’s Personal Data Engine and Knox Vault, keeping your data securely stored on your device, rather than in the cloud. Just as how Google allows users to eliminate people or objects from photos, Galaxy AI promises to bring this feature to video and audio. This means that it can take video and separate the different elements of audio from one another, including voice, music, and background noise. It can also remove unwanted figures from your videos, preserving your special memories and making content creation even easier.
Samsung Wearables
As we predicted in our recent blog post, the growth of wearable technology is set to be a defining feature of the tech industry in 2025, and Samsung are looking to make their mark in this area. At Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung briefly discussed its brand new XR headset, nicknamed Project Moohan. This project has been in the works for some time, and Samsung have partnered with Google and Qualcomm to create an operating system that works with Galaxy products. Whilst we don’t know much about this currently, this headset is predicted to provide a blend of virtual and augmented reality, with apps such as Google Maps or YouTube being facilitated.
They also teased their upcoming smart glasses, which won’t be released any time soon. They did not go into detail about what these glasses were exactly but mentioned that more would be shared later on in the year. We suspect that they might be similar to the Ray-Bans Meta, but with increased AI capabilities.
There is lots to get excited about if you’re a Samsung fan this year. From cutting-edge phones to prospects of new XR devices, Galaxy Unpacked revealed that 2025 is a year to watch in terms of upcoming Samsung releases. The new S25 phones are available to order now, so if you want to get your hands on them, selling your device can be a great way to get a little extra cash towards it.
