The Samsung Galaxy Note series sits across from the Galaxy S series as Samsung’s other flagship offering. The Galaxy Note line started back in 2011 and offers a premium Android Phablet experience that usually comes complete with a stylus. The most recent models include the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Note 10/Note 10+ and the Galaxy Note 20, 20+ and Note 20 Ultra 5G.
There are full tablet equivalents available of these too. The phones fall squarely into the phablet category due to their large size.
The Galaxy Note 8 debuted in 2017. It offers a 6.3inch 1440p Super AMOLED infinity display, stretched out over the entire phone. There’s an iris scanner and a dual-lens rear camera, which was a first for any Samsung device.
Launching just a year later, in 2018, was the Galaxy Note 9. The Note 9 was greeted with significant praise. The S-Pen stylus for the Note 9 was the first to be Bluetooth enabled, which meant it could be used to control the phone remotely, which meant it could be used to perform certain tasks, like take photos. The screen got a bump up to 6.4inches and the device allows for microSD cards to be used for storage.
The Galaxy Note 10 came along another year later, in 2019. It was the first time that the Note models were available with a ‘plus’ version, in this case being the Galaxy Note 10+. The Note 10 comes complete with a 6.3inch Infinity-O display, and the storage is fixed at 256gb. The Note 10+ however has a 6.8inch display and storage that’s expandable through a microSD card. Both models saw the addition of the triple-lens camera on the rear of the device. Since launch, there’s been an additional Galaxy Note 10+ 5G that’s 5G enabled too.
